there's this one motorhead tune where they have piano
sounds like a perfect stripper tune if i have ever heard one
but i can't think of the name of it

Fuckin' love Motorhead. They're not deep, poignant music, but if what you want is some gritty, hard hitting rock and roll nearing the border of metal, Motorhead is your band.

Another Perfect Day and Overkill are great albums in addition to Ace of Spades.

Lemmy is a metal icon and Motorhead has been consistent for a long time now. Hard to imagine that in generalities, the band is overlooked in the metal world (at least by younger fans).

You should check out the documentary "Lemmy" on Netflix. Pretty good IMO. Didn't know that he wrote Mama, I'm Coming Home with Ozzy Osbourne.

Lemmy (and by extension, Motorhead) has never identified himself as strictly heavy metal. He says he is more in tune with the punk scene (as in "Don't Give a F@ck" DIY attitude).

    i love the documentary.

he lives in a cluttered little apartment off of the sunset strip and hangs out all day every day at either the roxy or the whiskey (i've forgotten...) but he sits there, drinks his booze, picks up women, and just hangs out. it was cool when he was in his apartment and the interviewer asked him what his most valuable possession in the apartment is and he says his son, which really surprised his kid. good stuff there.

even if you don't like motorhead or lemmy it is a great watch. i have a new respect for the guy. some of their new stuff (get back in line, etc) is just as good as ace of spades IMO...

I love Motorhead! I finally crossed them off my bucket list last year when I saw them twice (at a club show in NYC and then a festival in Gulf Shores, AL).
They are still putting out fine albums and I recommend Lemmy's autobiography.
Here are the lyrics to "Orgasmatron" which is the title track to their album from 1986. I consider this song to be a classic.

I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.

I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit
I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet
I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain
And still you play the sycophant and revel in your pain
And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate
I am the politician, and I decide your fate

I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight
I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might
I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave
I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave
Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown
For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.
You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.
    - Al Swearengen

Lemmy's in quite a few Troma movies...which of course is perfect and amazing.

Motorhead is one of those bands that you know what you're gonna get, just good gritty rock and roll!
