    That is how it was this morning. People on the street were asking me for a cigarette and I was telling them it is not me smoking.

    I was caught out in a really cool breeze last night.. .The local authorities came past, they thought I must have been up to no good considering me and my little lady were the only ones out... Then once we proved we were just trying to get home, he pulled out his hip flask, gave us both a sip to warm up and said 'God Speed'... Terrible conditions...

    I'm surprised there hasn't been more of an uproar about it

    It's almost like we're living in the North Korea... Controlling the media... No one outside of Australia has heard of this big freeze...

    Glad you guys are doing okay.
    I heard schools may be closed tomorrow if the weather does not improve.

    Good news people, things are looking up (well not the temperature, the temperatures are still going down).

    Anyway, I wrote to my local government and they contacted me personally first thing this morning over the phone. They agreed that temperatures are getting dangerously low, especially for the children and the elderly, so they will be handing out ugg boots to all of the school aged children, and lap blankets to anyone over 60 years old. They will also be contacting every school in the area to tell them that children must be allowed to go to school in whatever their warmest clothes are, without being punished for being out of uniform (that includes wearing pajamas).I hope you guys are getting similar support from your local government.

    Plus I read in the newspaper this morning that the communities of northern Australia, all the way from Broome to Townsville have started up sewing and knitting groups that are committed to sewing quilts and jackets and knitting blankets and jumpers for people in the worst affected areas. I don't know if we would receive any here, as there are people in more need in the more southern areas of Australia (closer to Antarctica), but it's good to see Australians looking out for each other, especially when you consider that these kind-hearted people are experiencing minimum temperatures in the low 20s themselves (that's the 70s in Fahrenheit, for our American friends).

    :clap::clap::clap::clap:

    Good to see you're not just sitting on your hands...

    And about time this government has been held accountable...

    My old man told me that this is the coldest start to April in 80 years...

    I wish I was there now, far away from this bitter cold.
    WA sure is the lucky state.
