    Good Question. Ok, I finally have a chance to reveal my long-winded theory. Bear with me on this, because I know many will disagree, but I have thought about this for a long time, and here is what I have concluded:

    First of all, there are songs I hate WAY more than this, but I feel this is technically the worst song ever due to nearly every bad song cliche in it: Cheesy lyrics/vocals, anthemic pomp, singing in a round, call and answer, uninspired squealing guitar solo in the same melody as the vocal, clapping, "whoaaaa, whoaaaa" etc. And then there's the video. Holy hell. Now, I know you've all heard it a million times, but seriously, really listen to it:

    I know! omg, I hate Katy Perry. Her voice is awful and what I hate most about that song, is that it was obviously a ploy being released as her first single, because it is "outrageous" (not) and all the tweens bought it. Uggh. Touche, Loulou!
