Hedwich, a winemaker takes dedication and time to make a fine wine. Just as an olympic athlete or an astronaut train for years to reach their dream. Is their time wasted because they don't reach the gold or the moon? I think not; the journey is as important as the destination. And hopefully they are loving what they are doing during the training years. You dear Hedwich, are still in the training years. And hopefully loving every minute of it - therefore not wasting your time.

I think this journey certainly gives us the opportunity to meet some wonderful like-minded people. And in last year's holiday greeting, our man said something to the effect of: Maybe we'll see you and maybe we won't. Who knows? That's the exciting part of life.
I guess I took that as a personal challenge. When he announced his solo tour in February, I was eager to make sure that I was there. Buying those tickets made me ecstatic. Then my sis passed and the world seemed to crumble. Eddie hurt his shoulder and things were put on hold. And then what seemed to be endless waiting. Trying to not waste an opportunity, and knowing the future is uncertain at best, I got much better tickets(4th row). For me, the show and the hours after it, were the highlight of the roller coaster that was 2012 - truly the exciting part of this past year.
If being on this journey, makes your days brighter and ultimately makes you a happier person, it is completely and utterly worth it. Sorry - didn't mean to take something meant to be light-hearted and make it so deep. I am just really grateful to know that there are so many out there who share my feelings about this group of musicians and the message that they share.
