    Black. No other song has ever evoked so many emotions as this one. From the first time I ever heard it years ago up to now, the song has the same effect on me. Its the reason I first became a Pearl Jam fan. Its the reason I'm here on a Sunday morning writing about it. :D

    and while i love black
    from the first time i heard release it became and has stayed my favorite song
    i still get chills down my arms and have tears in my eyes to this very day

    Between these two, I would go with Release. Even though Black builds up to quite an emotional catharsis and definitely is a song I can relate to, Release speaks to me on a whole other level, a song that transcends. ..

    For me it's Release. It is my favourite song of all time, could listen to it anytime. Love the emotion and lyrics.

    In saying that, if I had never heard Release, then Black would be number 1.
