1) It wasn't in Jersey

2) The local beer was much better

3) It wasn't in Jersey

4) It was in NYC

5) I was there

6) No annoying trip to Newark

7) The staff was kick ass

8) Less talking more music ;)

9) Okay I'm full of shit, but NY 2 was amazing too

Edit:
8a) Barry White parody
8b) White pants

Edit #2:
From Mrs. Champ (yes, she emailed me this..I have created a monster..
Why it was Better:

1 - it took less than an hour to get back to the UES
2 - no heads were blocking my view of the stage
3 - I waved hi to Eddie (he looked at me)
4 - I now refer to Eddie Vedder as Eddie in casual conversation/emails
5 - the venue was in Washington Heights and it was neat to walk around

You could get to NJPAC from the city via the PATH. It takes about 30 minutes. Best venue According to Ed.

I was at NY 1 and it was incredible. Perhaps all the east coast stops were of similiar quality and it comes down to which one you were at. Although it seems the NY/NJ dates exceeded beantowns.

Having grown up in Newark that was probably the largest group of white folk that part of town has ever seen walking around at that time of the evening.

I was on line for a beer and some guy asked me if this is where Ed was playing. He said that when he walked up he was thrown off by the crowd outside. NIPAC has those free concerts every Thursday during the summer and they are actually pretty cool. They also have a jazz test in the fall which is fantastic.

Its funny that you mention that, because i made it a point to be dropped off
at the main entrance with smoke still pouring out of the car because i wasnt going to chance smoking in the theatre (which people did anyway)...and i blindly just walked out into the middle of the outdoor concert because i somehow thought i was heading in the right direction...and got caught pretty off-guard for half a second. Then i couldnt find my way out of the group of people as i was very trashed and stumbly, so i just followed some dude with a PJ shirt. Good times.

Ed was loving the whole thing going on there in lovely downtown Newark yesterday...as he put it "proud to be a part of summer in NJ". Between that effect, the weather, the peeps kickin' it outside, the venue, the crowd...I haven't seen him that "excited" overall in a while...best experience of the 3 local shows I went to.

Well I parked at the Prudential Center instead of Prudential Hall 6 blocks away and the Cirque de Soleil was going on there so there were a lot of white folk there as well. ;)
