Yesterday i planted a willow tree in my garden. for 2 reasons. I'd already bought the tree as it was me and my wife's 9th wedding anniversary, and willow is part of the traditional gifts. then this week my dog faith had to be put to sleep as she was ill beyond help. when we got faith as a pup, we very nearly called her willow.

so now that tree is planted for 2 reasons to signify our wedding and as a rememberance to faith.

just wanted to share that with everyone.

I've planted over 200,000 trees. My biggest day ever I planted 3750 trees.

Edit: I put 200 million by accident haha I'd have no knees or back left. It's already bad enough after 200 thousand.

Cool! My brother worked as a hoedad (which, I believe, is the tool used to plant trees with but this crew called themselves "hoedads") in Oregon for a while. Very hard, honorable work.

Very cool. We just called them shovels or spades. But some planters used long shafts and called them hoes. But I don't think I've ever heard the term "hoedad". All of my trees were planted in British Columbia. I planted trees for 4 summers. It was an amazing experience. But also very hard work. I made pretty good $$$ though.

I'm so sorry about your dog. I bet she had a good and happy life with you.

Must've been a bittersweet anniversary for you and your wife. A beautiful gesture.

I hope the tree grows strong and flourishes.

Haha sorry for the derailment. I just hadn't thought of my tree planting days in a while. Congrats on the anniversary.

Here's a nice video that reminds how loving pets are.

So sorry to hear about your dog but congrats on your anniversary. I think a tree is a lovely reminder, we put my Nan's ashes in a really beautiful garden, I know she would have liked that.

Sorry to hear about your dog, but he lives on as the tree grows and gets stronger. I love the idea of a tree as a passed loved one's marker. Congrats on your anniversary, too!
