Soldier Field Live Q101 Promotional CD set -EDIT

I purchased a copy of the 07/11/1995 "Q101 Soldier Field Live" 2 CD set. Needless to say that I researched at pjcollectors.com (great reference site).

My copy (Q101 SFL) has a dark green fold-gate packaging. I can not notice if the image on PJ Collectors is black or dark green. If you have a copy, would it be possible for you to tell me the color of your packaging? I believe mine to be authentic but figured I would ask the community for insight. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is another 2 CD set issue of the show of limited supply called "Spin the Black Circle" Live at Soldier Field #VV 000001 which was produced in extremely limited supplies. I do not have a copy. It is my most desired Holy Grail.

If you have a copy of "Spin the Black Circle" Live at Soldier Field and want to trade -- please send me a message. Thank you -- member number 158***

They are definitely dark green -- you're good there. :)
  • Thank you! There have been many copies of the show over the years. The Q101 show is another copy where it's difficult to hear Jeff. I really wish the Ten Club would issue some of these historic shows.

  • My favorite aspect of the show is that the band is running on all cylinders not to mention Mike and Stone really pushing the Grateful Dead's sound system!

I dont know how much better the sound is on the other boots though - I think everyone used the monkeywrench radio broadcast which is crazy treble-heavy. I could be wrong on that though.. I listened to that boot 1,000,000 times and I remember that I had a ton of shows that sounded better but I had to keep listening to that since I was there.

And I remember Q101 playing songs and having the wrong titles... I Got Id was 'Walk the Line' ... Habit was 'Have It' and I think there was one other horrible guess that I can't remember.

Maybe you could post some pictures of your case and cd's so we can look them over and see what you have. Just a thought though.

mine is dark green as well: soldier_radioshow_card_box.jpg

I have the version that looks like The Who Live at Leeds, by Red Robin. Sandy colored paper with blue lettering. Has a 3rd disc with some nice extras from Milwuakee.

No boot I have found actually has the whole show, Q101 is missing a lot, the SPTBC version you crave is missing some like the LPS, and the red robin version I have is missing Animal.

I realize I am replying to a 13 year old post, but the #VV 000001 stands for Vintage Vinyl.  The Spin the Black Circle Soldier Field show was released in limited quantities on vinyl and CD by Vintage Vinyl and 105.7 the Point in St. Louis, Mo.  Each were limited to 400 ( or 500 ) copies.   The vinyl sounds bad, and is on marble vinyl.  It includes a poster.  I got mine for $75 in 2007 from a craigslist post.  It had never been opened.  I got the CD around 2000/2001 when I watched a VV employee break a window with a whiffle ball and I knew they had about 50 in the store in the back still they couldn't sell.... I got the cd for my silence and the 2 sided Live on 2 legs poster.
