Foo Fighters Do Not Use Security?

I found this interesting:

As the story goes, Chevelle doesn’t travel with any security, and that is thanks to Grohl. “We were playing shows with the Foo Fighters, and Dave Grohl walks us across the street. I said, ‘Dave, no security, no lines?’” lead vocalist and guitarist Pete Loeffler told Rolling Stone. “He said, ‘Yeah, security makes more problems than they fix.’ We always felt like if Dave Grohl doesn’t need security, what do we need security for?” Good point.

There was that video a while back of Dave Grohl in the mosh pit for Soundgarden with no security around him, I thought that was pretty cool.

I remember that video. He said in an recent interview, that he just wanted to be one of the regulars rocking out, and getting sweaty with a bunch of other fans.

I saw Foos in I think 07 at a small club. As we arrived the barriers were being carried out and someone asked why ... the response ... when the band were soundchecking they told us this place is small enough we don't want barriers.

Queue the band on a knee high stage in front of 3-400 fans.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Dave has always been a "man of the people", so there isn't too much of a mystique about him. I can see how he wouldn't really need security everywhere he goes.

yeah, a friend of mine, was in LA and saw him eating at a restaurant. Seems like a very chill and laid back kind of guy.

That is just the most amazing stroke of luck on the part of your wife! Some people just get lucky no matter how you look at things....
