NOM's secret agenda of race baiting exposed.

Today the Human Rights Campaign unsealed a few secret internal memos that very carefully out-lined the plan of race baiting, intentionally trying to turn blacks, hispanics and gays against each other.

This passage is choice...
"The strategic goal of this project is to drive a wedge between gays and blacks—two key Democratic constituencies. Find, equip, energize and connect African American spokespeople for marriage, develop a media campaign around their objections to gay marriage as a civil right; provoke the gay marriage base into responding by denouncing these spokesmen and women as bigots…”
Hispanic communities were targeted too. The xenophobic racism in these memos is beyond damaging. This is the nuclear bomb that will destroy NOM, Maggie Gallagher and Brian Brown for good.
"The Latino vote in America is a key swing vote, and will be so even more so in the future, both because of demographic growth and inherent uncertainty: Will the process of assimilation to the dominant Anglo culture lead Hispanics to abandon traditional family values? We must interrupt this process of assimilation by making support for marriage a key badge of Latino identity - a symbol of resistance to inappropriate assimilation."
While NOM was busy wasting their time trying to get people to boycott Starbucks this week, they lost a supreme court case as they tried to keep their fund raising and records sealed.
This... is more huge than many people realize. Even the people of the African American and Hispanic communities who are opposed to marriage equality will like being used as worker bees even less.
You just might want to sit back and enjoy this. I sure will.

"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Well that's just it... that's not what exit polls showed. That's the story that NOM and the Mormons spread as fast as they could in an effort to divert attention from themselves and turn gays and blacks against each other.
As if I could ever hate Aretha.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Pretty much. And that was always part of their bigger plan.. we always suspected it but this document found today proves it with nauseating language.
Oh, there certainly was a higher percentage of Prop 8 supporters in the African American community. But not nearly enough to have made the difference.
It was much more Christians of all races, those over 60 and amazingly, white middle class suburban people who were fooled by the fear-mongering and race-baiting commercials that suggested Prop 8 was about teaching children about gay sex in pre-school (especially the shocked little hispanic girl of about 6 looking into the camera and saying "what does Proposition 8 mean to me?").
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
I always thought the field trip to the same-sex wedding was also pretty devastating. I was living in the Bay area at the time and I just thought it was an extremely ill advised idea that backfired tremendously.
And I understand all the details about the trip and nobody was forced to go, but in this day in age it doesn't really matter, it is all about perception.
I will never understand why someone would do that...why put so much effort into this...is there money to be made somehow? I don't know a ton about all the prop 8 details...
