hope i stumble back there and find some new 98 designs
what i don't understand is how can we make threads about where to buy PJ stuff, that doesn't seem to be affiliated with PJ, or have "official merchandise" yet we aren't allowed to post a link to things on ebay...
not an attack on the orginal poster, more so on the rules of this forum.
that's because you compared claypool to ament!

So they're not officially licensed? Makes sense that a site would sell such stuff. I just never understood why people were willing to pay exhorbitant amounts for concert shirts, especially the sports related shirts, when it's much easier have a company do it for you based on that design.

And yeah, sure, maybe its not my responsibility, but when you sign up with Redbubble you state that all designs are original and you aren't breaking any copyright/trademark laws. I have just sent an email to amesbros with a link to redbubble, and I will be contacting redbubble shortly.
It is NOT cool to steal other peoples work and designs and profit off of them.
Exactly my point, If i want to try to sell one of my Official PJ items on ebay, i can't post a link. BUt these assholes can buy a 1 dollar shirt and screenprint a "borrowed" piece of orginal art onto it? And the Ten Club is ok with it...
riiiight
The issue I have is this:
The people uploading the Pearl Jam designs are not the original designers of them. They are stealing the image from someone, and they are alluding that they did the design work themselves. They didn't. They aren't artists, they are thieves.
This is completely illegal. This is taking someone else's intellectual property and alluding to the world that you are the original creator.
Red Bubble makes you state when you sign up, that you are NOT STEALING others' work. That all the designs you upload are yours or you have explicit permission from the original designer to use their work. The people posting these designs are profiting from someone else's hard work and that is not ok.
As an artist/designer, it is VERY hard to make a living from your own work. It is completely devastating to see other people taking something you've worked on yourself, and making money on it as if they owned it.
To the people supporting these thieves by buying and promoting their 'work' on here or anywhere else, you are all accessories to the crime. You are helping society become morally ambiguous by saying 'it's ok to steal work and make money off it, as long as it's something cool'.
This is totally and utterly wrong. COMPLETELY pathetic behaviour by people who are not creative enough or intelligent enough to think of something themselves so instead steal the work of others. NOT COOL AT ALL.
And yes, I did report it to Red Bubble. Along with links to ALL of the work that users are saying is theirs.
It's not A COMPANY. It's designers (and impostors) all over the world, putting up their original (or stolen) artwork, which RedBubble then has printed on the medium you choose, be it tees, or posters, or cards, or iPhone cases etc. The seller gets paid a very small proportion of what you actually pay - for a $45 iPhone case, the seller gets $6. The seller doesn't get paid until they have made a minimum amount, usually at least $20 a month. And it doesn't make sense to steal someone's design, upload it as your own, then on sell it to the public using an outside company as the front and the way to have it printed onto a tee. It's still stealing, and it's very wrong. People need to understand this concept, or there will be no hope for legitimate artists to make a living off their own work.
