What is the best version of this song from the bootleg section? I have downloaded a few versions like the one from "vote for change" but Eddie doesn't sing the "don't Cryyyyyy" bit.

2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
2009: Rotterdam, London
2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin

hmmm, im not sure there are any versions from 1998 onwards where Eddie DOES sing the "don't cryyyyy" bit. That's usually the crowd's job these days. I think any versions from the '92-'93 era have Eddie singing that part.
I like the Berlin 2006 version."This town deserves a better class of criminal... and I'm gonna give it to them."0 -
best one has got to be Toronto 2003... Mike messes up a couple of times but it has the loudest crowd (on tape) and just was amazing to listen to.i only own my mind- i am mine.

I was at MSG 2003 and I have to agree. Amazing version, I had chills listening as house lights came on.0

Baba O'RileyI was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!
...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!0 -
The last night in Seattle 2000
I thought that one was the best (they also play the kids are alright)0 -
I am in a similar situation, does anyone have an mp3 of the Who's instrumental version of Baba which is what PJ uses before they come on stage? Thanks!0

I'll second that.

Try Boston (Mansfield) 07/03/03. The crowd sounds great. And so does the band!0

Of course if you want a version were Ed sings the "don't cry" part, then I don't know where to look. But on the 07/03/03 version, the crowd is loud and clear during that part.0 -
So after reading all the replys I come to the conclusion that every version is just great
Zürich 2000
Bern 2006
Southside Festival 2007
Berlin 2010
Berlin 1&2 2012
Milano 2014
EV-Solo Amsterdam 2017
Padova 2018
Prague 2018
Zürich 20220 -
everybody here is forgetting reading 2006 version...that was very powerful, tight and meaningful0

Found this old school version from August 1, 1993, intense:

My vote goes for Pittsburgh 2000. PJ played Baba with members of Sonic Youth at that show.0
