If i'm not mistaking it's the first time the festival is in this (new) park.
It used to be held in Imola.
    It's gonna be huge....and fuckin'awesome!

Yes, you're right - Always took place in Imola, but now it's been held in Mestre/Venezia to celebrate the 10 years of the Heineken Jamming festival.

Parco San Giuliano in Mestre, right across from Venice islands itself, is a new park developed from a previous landfill area.

And I also agree that it's gonna be fuckin' awesome! :)

Also, one of the best time of the year to be in Venice!

Oh yeah, I'll be there too.

Looks like june is gonna be an expensive month.
Cannot think of a better way to spend my money though :D

I´ll be using the "Treviso" airport instead of "Marco Polo"
It´s supposed to be some 40 km outside of Venice, but saves me
a shitload of money travelling from the Netherlands.
(unless travelling from/to the airport is really expensive)

There are buses that take you from Treviso Airport to Venice, and viceversa:

    http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?ld=index_euro.php&id=&var=t

Otherwise you can always catch a train - they're frequent and fast.

Treviso and Venice are less than 30km.

Going to hit this show up. So psyched...first time seeing PJ in Europe. I would imagine that this is a enormous festival, any idea on how big it's been each night over the past few years?

Here's the plant of the venue from the official site. http://www.heineken.it/heinekenjamminfestival/EN/indexFlash.html

It looks like a medium to big size festial if you looke ad the space in front of the main stage, around 30000 places I'd say. But there will be a huge number of pj fans there i think.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find info on what time the bands are scheduled to play the main stage....

Just got tickets to the friday and saturday at Heineken Jammin Festival in venice
Pearl jam friday, smashing pumpkins and aerosmith saturday. Got a real cheap flight from krakow the day after the katiwice show to venice, and flying back to london the day before the wembley show

It is gonna be a great trip round Europe for me!!

Who else is going to this show?
I'm following your schedule almost exactly! The only difference is that I am starting from Munich on June 12th.

on the ticket it says Pearl Jam 21:30

I hope it's correct because Side and I need to get on a train to Vienna at 1.30... and unless there's somewhere on site we can leave our backpacks at (or someone with a car that lets us do likewise), we'll have to go back to the hotel near St Lucia first then out again to Mestre station.

This board is just a cornucopia of information. I love it. Ask and you shall receive. PJ will probably shut it down after 2 and a half hours. It could be close for you, but you don't want to miss a smokin version of YL or RITFW!

    Thanks again!

there will be lockers at mestre station which is reasonably close by to the venue. the problem might be that alot of stations have no access to lockers after midnight.

They dont. I checked. They do not have automatic lockers, so their locker office or whatever its called, closes at 11 pm I think.
Now, there might be some lockers at the bus station which is like 50 meters away. I will check that ;)

I was about to reply, you were faster Sid ;)
yes, do check the bus, that'd be easier than getting back to the hotel.
the camping is only for people doing the whole festival, so don't think we'd find someone there.

Hey guys, I'll be there too. Like most people I'll be attending both the Fri and Sat shows. Then I got a break till Holland/Belgium shows.

I was wondering what's everyone doing for lodging in Venice if you're staying there of course. Are you guys getting hotels in Venice or Mestre (closer to the venue). Just wondering, cause I still haven't booked my stuff yet.

We should all decide on a meeting place inside the venue. Should be fun.
