Truth is, once I run out of beer and /or realize there is no hope for another PJ tour, I'd just as soon be dead.

seriously, we're all going to die someday, this guy's probably shortening his life fretting over this so called "end of the world" crap anyway. There is a lot to be said about living in the moment.
I saw a promo for a show, forgot what channel it was, for building apocalypse bunkers, or like Pimp My Bunker or something like that. It's all to make money I figure, nothing is gonna happen.
And it's like if I could survive but everyone else, and everything else I know and love is gone...what's the freaking point?
We watched the Ancient Aliens show last night ... pretty cool stuff
they came down and taught the Mayans everything they know and are coming back
soon ... yippee I think
it is freaky how the Mayans knew so much about the universe and time
even time long before them and about the celestial events before them and after
how did they get that damn clock right too
big one lining up for 12/21/12 ... I like the way that date looks

On the one hand, I think they're all a little cuckoo.. on the other hand, it would be the story of my life to underestimate the severity of some situations and be totally unprepared.

Actually, I think the Mayan calendar ends some time in November 2012. I'm not sure why people keep saying December 21st when the Mayan calendar has absolutely nothing to do with the Earths rotation or orbit around the sun.
The Mayans had three calendars. The 365 day one was for tax purposes. The "end of the world" calendar was based on the collective consiousness of the universe.

I found this article to support your view... says could be 60 days off ...
hope not, we really like Thanksgiving around here
actually says out so more like then February 2013
And now, according to a recent study by an associate professor at UC Santa Barbara, this fundamental "end date" may also be inaccurate. It could be at least 60 days out of whack.
the article mentions how they got to that very cool date I like
It's Just a Numerical Coincidence
Using remarkable ingenuity, the Maya created the "Long Count" calendar, a departure from the shorter calendars. The Long Count is a numerically predictable calendar, not based on archaic measures of time.
Now, purely as a consequence of the Long Count's numerical value, many Mayan scholars agree that the calendar will "run out" after 5,126 years (or, at least, it's first cycle does). The Mayans set this calendar to begin in the year 3114 B.C. (according to our modern Gregorian calendar). If the Long Count began in 3114 B.C. and it's calculated to continue for 5126 years, the "end date" will be -- you guessed it -- 2012 A.D. Further refinement sets the date to Dec. 21, the day of the winter solstice for the Northern Hemisphere.
I just want to see the black hole in the middle of our Milky Way line up with the Sun
and us ... kind of a big deal won't come around for another 26,000 years
