fan meetup amsterdam wed night

anything going for a meetup on wednesday night?
will be flying in from london at about 8, and up for a few drinks with others in town before heading to nijmegen on thursday morning.

    Hmmmm. Depends what you're looking for. If it's cheap tourist beer, then Rembrandt Plein or Leidseplein are the best options. There's loads of big irish bars and stuff They have the advantage of outside seating(Although the weather is shite at the moment) and cheap food. I Scot ID(Fraser) works here:

    If there's no major sport on on wednesday night it will be quite quiet. If it's just a few people - i.e. less than 10, then my preference would be the Gollem:

    It's a nice little Belgian beer bar, plays good music(PJ included) and on a wednesday night it will eb close to empty. The disadvantage is that it's tiny, and also that Belgian beer will knock you for six!

    Does the place Rookies still exist in Amsterdam? Kinda like a sports bar/cafe. Really great place I thought it was. I think it was close to Burgerking.

    Yeah - it's still there, and you're memory is good. Turn left coming out of Brugerking and it's about 200 yards.

    The advantage is the you can smoke pot and drink there. Which is not that common. I don't know if this makes a difference to many people, but I know it's very frustrating taking pot heads round Amsterdam and not being able to have a pint.

    The place can be kind of busy, but again, a Wednesday shouldn't be too bad.

    The people working there were really cool. You can buy pot from the bar where it's behind the counter in little boxes. I thought that was so cool. Bought some purple haze there. :D Some of the other places I went to just sold juice and water. Having a smoke and a drink was nice also.

    Yea I did alot in 5 short days in Amsterdam and remember most of it. But not all. LOL

    i am staying at st christophers hostel.
    will be leaving for the airport in an hour or so. there will be plenty of jammers in town i think, so should we just name a bar, central and easy to get to and from and meet there. Don't know any myself so if a local can help out...

    I saw the irish bars that cover one side of Leidseplein.... easy to find... easy to get to(trams), and if anyone is interested they poke their head in their and see if there's anyone about. I might pop in after the dinosaur jr gig...

    could be a good place. been there a few times, and lots of bars. i will be in the area from 10ish i would guess. Might start at the bulldog to get some smoko, and then see who is around

    Just had the craziest trip into amsterdam, three flight changes and an unscheduled stop in ireland, thanks to aer lingus got in here around noon, not too shabby considering all that happened for me to get here. Note: At coffeeshop now. Anyway so is there a final concensus (?) about wednesday night? Mostly all i wanna know is time and location, if its cool for me to swing by.

    yeah, i've been on leidsplein this afternoon and there are LOTS of irish pubs over there. if you'd just name one would be better. or maybe at Bulldog Leidsplein? by what time? 10h? is this cool?

    has a meetup been decided? im an unfortunate 10C member without a ticket for the show tomorrow night and in Amsterdam. While tickets arent sold out, I cant print from my hostel, so Im just trying to find a kind soul who can offer me a ticket for face+fees.

    You can go to a post office or to the ticket counter at Leidseplein and they should be able to sell you one.
