What do you think the cover of Riot Act symbolizes? With the skeletons with the king/queen crowns?

    This may be way out there but I've always put the images of kings and queens with the word "sovereignty" which is basically ruling or having authority over people or an area normally without legal or any explanation as to the rules they make. With that being said...

    Looking at the title, the tracks on the album and given the time period the album was released I really think the album cover is a play or pun on the direction they possibly thought our country was headed (might still be heading there) at the time which was down the tubes in a hurry.

    This would have been the same tour that Eddie left the George W. Bush mask hanging on the mic stand and Bu$hleaguer is on the album. Perhaps they thought he "ruled" this country much in the manner of a broken monarchy of sorts (symbolizing skeletal remains) and perhaps the album cover is a reflection of that.

    I dunno. Probably not.

    I'm probably totally off in my thoughts but I can't help but see the cover, think about the time period, what was going on here in our country and NOT tie it to some political meaning.

    I'm an English major...I overanalyze EVERYTHING to the point of insanity. The band always said there was no meaning or correlation betwixt the cover and the title so who the hell knows.

    Time for a smoke in a tree...my brain hurts now. HAHA.

    Wow. Thank you so much! I was on the same train of thought as you were. The reason I ask is that I want to get the two king/queen crown symbols tattooed on myself - I just need some justification!

    I'm referring to the crowns in this image ...

    Very nice! I say go for it! Is Riot Act your favorite album I take it?

    Guess I should start looking at Yield signs for my tattoo... ;) hehe

    Not necessarily, but I also see the crowns on all of the Lost Dogs materials. I'm not sure what the connection there is?
