check the A+ traders thread and see if theyre listed there, even if they arent, swap addresses and send your item. once you have both received your trades and are both happy, list each other and give feedback in the A+ traders thread. Simple really.
if they're high value items, probably best to get insurance, this is a good idea in case of lost/damaged goods.
Well, first, you offer whatever it is you want to trade for what you want. Then, after 20 comments have been made to how ridiculous your trade offer is somebody will come along who will want to trade.
Seriously, it's just a matter of posting what you want to trade and then maybe a list of what you're looking to trade for. It's really pretty easy. Best of luck!

Well you have to trust each other. Either one can send first and when it gets there the other can send. I typically send it right away and they send the same time. Then if you are both happy post it on the A+ page so everybody else knows you two are trustworthy. Hope that helps.

Keep it simple! Here's some general steps to go by:
1) Communication is key. Fully describe your items, do some bartering, ask questions, then reach a fair trade. Be respectful and understanding if it just doesn't work for both parties, and be reasonable. You gotta give to get!
2) Ship it. Usually it's agreed that both parties will have some shipping fees so it's a fair trade off. Package up your items safely, bubble wrap is your friend . You can also find cardboard mailers specifically for 7" and 12" records.
3) If all went well, consider adding that person to the A+ traders list - viewtopic.php?f=20&t=149197
That's about it! Might seem weird at first sending something off to a complete stranger, it does take some trust, but if I were to generalize 95% of the people on the boards are awesome, caring, trustworthy folks .
Sorry. I meant to write more but forgot. Whenever I've done trades I generally offer a tracking number if possible and I'll ask the sam in return. I'll also get insurance for the package. I've never been burned by a trade on here though it's happened.

Can anyone tell me how they handle trades typically? I want to make a trade with another member but neither one of us have done it before. Thanks
However you want them to, there are no rules!

There are no rules that specifically govern how to go about doing a trade, any rules are left up to the two parties involved to establish and follow, there is no world trade organization involved in two pearl jam fans trading merch! lol

treat it like a sale. you spent money on your item, the other party spent money on theirs, so indirectly it is a sale. protect yourself! get delivery confirmation and insurance. delivery confirm is only like 45 cents. insurance might run you two or three bucks, but it's worth it if something happens. if you insure for more than $200 US value, the recipient has to sign for it, so delivery confirm is not as crucial. you can't track an insurance number, though, so i always add the delivery confirm anyway.
way to make anyone nervous about trading with you. best of luck with that outlook.
Shouldn't be nervous, if you understood what I wrote it would make sense. All I am saying is there are no set rules, every trade is unique and therefore might require different circumstances per each transaction. I have had a few trades here and all have went well, it is all about the communication between the two parties.
