I am going my first Radiohead show next week in Phoenix and just asking if anyone has seen them live recently? If so, how was it? How excited should I be for the show? Any follow up I greatly appreciate.

thanks

Yes, I saw them last Saturday March 3rd.

The show was awesome. :D It was also my first time seeing radiohead live. I can post the setlist if you want to see it. One thing though: Be familiar with the most recent albums as they pull from those mostly or so it seems. They will play a few hits, but not like PJ would. Great stage projections, and lighting. It's really neat to see Radiohead recreate their music live on a stage. Hope this helps. Have a great time. I know I did. Bummer it took me this long to see them live. Just had other obstacles in the way on previous tours.

Thanks for the review. I am forcing myself to listen to the first album, hopefully it sounds better live. I guess I have really high hopes. I shall see. thanks

I just saw them on Monday for the first time. It was an amazing show. I'll echo what Red Mos said, they play a lot from In Rainbows and King of Limbs, plus some new songs and a few from the other albums. Don't go in expecting to hear a lot of Bends and OK Computer material. You may get one or 2 from each album, but maybe not. In Dallas we got 3 from OK Computer and nothing from the bends. That was fine with me though since I like their newer material and already knew what to expect going in. They sounded great and the new stuff sounds a lot better live! Thom's voice was good and the musicianship was really there. You'll have a blast...enjoy!

They are playing almost ( if not all King of limbs), and about 1/2 of in rainbows, and 1/2 of hail to the theif in the sets. After that, it just seems to be 1-2 songs off records like, OK computer, KID A Amnesiac ect.

They completely ignored anything from Pablo Honey, The Bends, and Amnesiac for Houston. They are playing some B sides and or non released material a little bit too. As the setlists have been looking, it's best to be familiar with Kings of Limbs, In Rainbows, and Hail to the theif cause they appear to be playing alot of those songs live for a good chunk of the setlist. The other albums haven't been hit as hard. It's only the5th maybe 6th show of this tour (think they did an ACL taping in Austin today or yesterday). Have fun! :D The show was fantastic for Houston. You won't be dissapointed. the new album sounded better live I thought, now I love it alot more.
To echo Better Dan- King of Limbs just amazed me live, now I love it studiowise. I liked it before, and was like it's good, but now I love it, after seeing those songs played live. wow!

Yes, agree to the above. The King of Limbs tracks have way more groove and energy live than the record. Also, the two drums create a sound I have never heard before. Even though they are playing less old stuff, the show I saw outdid the 2008 show by far. Should you be excited? Yes. Get ready for the greatest 2 hours of your life. I have been to lots of great shows, but this just took it to the next level for me.

i think the key to the recorded version is putting them on a halfway decent stereo with good speakers and turning it up a bit.

I like it too. I never hated it, but I definitely "got it" after a few listens and have grown to really enjoy it. The songs sound a lot better live so you may actually enjoy them at the show.

Do they do poster sales like PJ? Do you have to go in early to get them?

I'm not concerned about that. I just try to get any poster from any show I actually attend as a keepsake. I have more than enough t-shirts and hoodies. hahahahahaha

Saw them in ATL last week and they blew my doors off 8-):D . Just incredible and met all (high) expectations. Everything was well thought out yet maintained an air of spontaneity. The light show and stage presentation and the way they were coordinated were reminiscent of Floyd. The setlist was quite varied and tapped into almost every album and them some. Missed the opener so no comments there. Hail, hail to the lucky ones who get to catch them on the forthcoming dates and witness brilliance at the top of their game  !!!

    Here is the Houston Poster.

I was actually in line to buy a shirt, but they were out of the one I wanted. I just happen to see this table as I was about to exit the venue, that had the posters. They also had one that was grey and had the forest tree design and it just said: RADIOHEAD. There were quite a few posters left. The table was in a very odd spot. They also have poster tubes for the poster after purchasing. The also excepted credit cards at our show as well. Posters are $30.

Design appears to be the same, it's just the venue name, street address, are a different color for each city.
