One of our best lyricists. Sam Beam is a genius. I love that he really does live the life you picture him living. Just with his wife and 5 kids (!) on some country rural farm house property.

I'd say he has written some of the most gorgeous music ive ever heard. And even though the new album didnt take my breath away like some of his previous work, songs like Godless Brother in Love or Half Moon, or Tree by The River are absolutely gorgeous and stunning. The first 3 albums are pretty much flawless.

Naked as We Came, is the reason i want to be cremated when i die.

And the guy is hilarious live. When i saw him in 2007 or 2008 or so, some lady shouted out, Sam I love you, and he said "mom is that you? why cant you leave me alone and let me live my life"

I need to listen to more from Iron and Wine. I only have Sheperd's Dog but its a great album.

This reminds me of Eddie's 2 NYC shows last June! One night when someone shouted out 'Eddie, I love you!' Ed replied with, "Where were you when I needed you?" And the 2nd night when someone yelled the same thing out again Ed said something along the lines of, 'I'm pretty sure I know my wife's voice, and that's not it'
