First time since the Attack and Release album. Another great show, and they did well for it being in a arena. That wall-o-fuzz that Dan kicks in and hits you in the chest is still amazing...
I see he added what looked like a 5E3 to his rig...

More to Come....
The 5e3 suits his tone quite well. I just finished building another one of these amps this past weekend in a tweed pro cabinet. The extra size of the cabinet really helps the amp have a little more oomph.
The 5e3 will compress/sag and then bloom out depending on the attack on the strings...perfect for Dan.
I think I have built a dozen 5e3's...I'll never get tired of building tweed amps, lotsa fun to build.
I've seen them 5 times now. Twice in a venue that held about 800 people, once in a venue that held about 1,500 people, once in a beautiful historic theater that held about 2,500 people and now in a arena. I'll be honest I had the same opinion as you up until I saw them do it. They held the crowd really well, and came off well. I also like that they added the keyboardist and bass player for the last two albums.
It really was a great great show, and they actually almost played for a hour and a half. That was always my biggest issue with them that typical short hour and fifteen minute set.
Arctic Monkeys was awesome. I went in non having a clue about that band, or knowing anything of them. They seem to have multiple personalities. They go from some English rockabilly thing to some almost hardcore punk deal. That drummer is awesome...

Yea 5e3's are one of my favorite fender tones. My Classic 6 that was just build for me is based on the 5e3 power section. It's hard to tell when he is using what, but I'd say there were two occasions where that was definitely the only amp he was playing.

I can't wait...
