nirvana - dumb

I'm not like them
But I can pretend
The sun is gone
But I have a light
The day is done
But I'm having fun

I think I'm dumb
or maybe just happy
Think I'm just happy
my heart is broke
But I have some glue
help me inhale
And mend it with you
We'll float around
And hang out on clouds
Then we'll come down
And have a hangover... have a hangover

Skin the sun
Fall asleep
Wish away
The soul is cheap
Lesson learned
Wish me luck
Soothe the burn
Wake me up

I'm not like them
But I can pretend
The sun is gone
But I have a light
The day is done
But I'm having fun

I think I'm dumb
I think I'm dumb
I think I'm dumb
I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

I think I'm dumb

    Another avenue:

"If I could offer one piece of advice to the planet, it would be this: Don't marry for looks alone, and I'll tell you why. In a few years, when Barbara's boobs start sagging, she can get plastic surgery, have them lifted, move the nipple wherever. You can actually go to a titty bar, pick out a set of titties and say, "I want those titties on that woman." If her belly gets too big, she can get a tummy tuck and have a belly like a cheerleader. If her vision goes bad, you can have LASIK surgery and have 20/20 vision. If her hearing goes bad, they can install a device in her ear that will give you hearing as clear as it was the day you were born. But let me tell you something, folks: You can't fix stupid. There's not a pill you can take; there's not a class you can go to. Stupid is forever."

    - Ron White

(ps...we all keep fuckin up, no? yes. and then hopefully learn)

the ironic thing is this. to make it in the music business, especially rock music, you have to have the ability and the intelligence to compose the music and write the lyrics to go along with it. not everyone can do that or else all of us that have ever been in a band would do that. some would argue that cobain, young, and others, are actually geniuses.

Ah, but what's also ironic is that many in that business have been incredibly successful (for lack of a better word), despite uttering the most moronic of lyrics and having no semblance of talent other than being able to gyrate really well.

Genius is part of what made/makes Cobain, Young, PJ et.c great and honesty about fucking up is what makes it real. And Chadwick, if you ever figure out what it takes to never fuck up again, PLEASE, let me know!
"Pretty cookies, heart squares all around, yeah!"
    -Eddie Vedder, "Smile"

"Try to not spook the horse."

what a boring life that would be!!

I think there is a genius behind any successful musician...whether it is musical genius (Prince, Stevie Wonder, etc) or it is a business/marketing genius (britney spears, boy bands, most of today's r&b / rap...I mean let's be honest, the genius doesn't always have to be the one with the microphone...I mean look at Girltalk...I think that shit is genius

I always seem to die a little bit inside when Nirvana is followed by Nickelback on the radio...

who the fuck listens to nickelback?

I have always found Reznor to be quite the musician

I'd listen to the words he'd say
but in his voice I heard decay
the plastic face forced to portray
all the insides left cold and gray
there is a place that still remains
it eats the fear it eats the pain
the sweetest price he'll have to pay
the day the whole world went away

thinking about Dumb...these seem like they are two ways to say the same thing...

and if you don't believe mr. neil young is a genius you are fucked in the head and have no sense at all and your opinions on anything are totally wrong all together.

Well...that's a good argument if I've ever heard one

    I like Neil very much.

Right now, I'd describe him as perfect for an angry mid-week evening, as well as for a peaceful Sunday morn. Just depends on which road of his you choose at the time.

    True!

But let's look at boring. Even that can be turned into something quite creative and good as in:
