I don't care how weird Michael was, he was a very talented guy back in the day. A shout out to flyinwhole313 for the Thriller lp, it's great :D .

I don't know if there has ever been a better opener to any album than "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'". Seriously. I can do without The Girl Is Mine, but it is absolutely amazing. And how Baby Be Mine and The Lady in my life weren't hits is a mystery to me. Almost every song was a single. Off the Wall is amazing too in different ways and so is Bad, although a bit cheesier, lol. *sigh* I miss MJ.

Probably 50 alone solo, maybe more. A lot more if you include Jackson 5 in there.

Oh gosh as far as really good songs go Michael Jackson has about 300! As far as kick ass like Thriller is I would personally put 50 or so in that category, maybe a few more. But he certainly was as talented as it gets really and I think he was an even better person inside than he was talented.

Hell yeah it is! Nice to see some MJ love on here. I forgot where I read it, but when he was making the album, Michael said he wanted the album to be something like where all the songs are singles. The album basically is. Now I'm going to have to go listen to it! :D

Yeah, I read he was upset that Off The Wall didn't get any grammy noms, and was trying to make the best selling album of all time because he was such a perfectionist. Mission accomplished! There's a new book out that just focuses on his work and creativity that is supposed to be really good; I keep forgetting to check it out

It's one of those albums I just can't delete off my iPod to make space for other music. I just don't know when I'll be in the mood for it. Guaranteed I'll be in the mood for it at some points.

Totally. And so many of the tracks were so overplayed that you forget how good they are, but they sound so good on the record.

It's kind of like a comfort album. If I'm ever feeling down I know it's there for me.

I agree that Off the Wall is off the charts. Thriller is great, too. He was really just something else. The other day on the radio I heard "In the Closet", which I had forgotten about, and man that was pretty good, too. RIP MJ.

edit: one of my alltime favorites is that song from Free Willy (Will you Be there, I think). Phenomenal.

I wasn't implying it was hard to find...

I haven't seen one at my local record shop and I just haven't gotten around to looking for one online.

yeah! Dangerous is good too, I guess it just depends on the generation you grew up in kind of. It's no Thriller, and it's not deep or anything, but there's a lot of hits and it's still better most people's records. He really didn't have many bad songs. In the Closet is great, and my sister and I watched Free Willy on VHS and rewound it again and again and again because the Will You Be There video was on it too, lol. memories. Great Song. :)

"Dangerous" is my favorite MJ album. Great stuff on that album, although I feel there are 1 or 2 fillers in that album.

  • thriller is a masterpiece, but like alot of mj's catalogue the fact it was uncool to like or be a fan of mj during the 90's and most of the 2000's, the rest of his catalogue is ignored. off the wall could be considered a classic. so could bad. i was obsessed with dangerous as a kid. History is also a pretty good listen.
  • dangerous may be my favorite. its just so cool. look at the songs. Jam is great. remember that Mj and Michael jordan music video. Why you wanna trip on me is a damn good groove. In the closet was great. Remember the time, heal the world, black or white, who is it, give in to me. will you be there, keep the faith, gone too soon and dangerous. those are some amazing tunes

It's true. I agree with you about History too, for the most part. The Earth Song and Stranger in Moscow are so beautiful and sad, and MJ's voice is amazing on those songs. Great singer in general.

I had never heard The Earth Song until I saw This Is It and I loved that song and went and downloaded it.
