2nd warmest winter in the past 50 years here in Alabama....where we are having a bunch of those tornadoes.

    Scary stuff for sure.
We were parked at our grade school one day, waiting to load the kids to go home & right above me was a huge funnel cloud, I almost p-p'd! I radioed base & thought for sure the school would evacuate the buses & assume tornado positions. No, they hurried the kids onto the buses & disappeared faster than a freebie in Lost Dogs. And then, all hell broke loose. Hail, blinding rain, green skies, wind whipping, kids screaming, crying, windows fogged, several tornadoes touching down, police sent out to escort school buses, it was the longest hour of my life. One driver had a tornado in a field keeping pace alongside her bus. We were re-routed to avoid touchdowns & I had several of my older kids at lookout points as we made our way. Pulled into the yard, peeled my fingers off the wheel & said a giant prayer of thanks!!

I'm in Louisville and we had hail the size of softballs. Been a scary afternoon!
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

My dad was just reading that in Indiana a two-year-old girl was just found alive ten miles away from her home. Her mother, father, and two siblings (ages 3 and 2 months) were all killed. I want to go get her :(

I understand he was nervous and frightened over the fact that a otrnado was forming over his house, bot oh my god was I laughing at his stupid dialogue! "do you see that?! do you see that?" "OMG IT LANDED! TORNADO, TORNADO!"

The details of this story were inaccurate...the little girl was less than a mile from her home, and they took her off life support yesterday :(

whole families being wiped out, so sad

I saw a report of someone in Alabama I think, where they had just finished rebuilding from last year's tornado and once again, their home was destroyed.

How do you deal with that?
