checked staples, ups, canada post and walmart. the only ones I could find were 3 x 36 and that is way too big for a poster. they also aren't the most durable either

I picked up a 4-pack of 2.5"x24" poster tubes for $14 shipped ($3.50 per tube) off ebay last week. Nice sturdy quality, arrived in about a week. I can PM you a link to the seller if you're still looking!

    How about FedEx?

You could always pick up a poster tube from Staples & place it one of those poster boxes @ Canada Post, for a little more protection. Munk One, Jeff Soto & many other PJ artists ship their poster tubes in one of those boxes.

I thought about this but the only tube that could fit a poster would be 3 x 36. Basically I would have to cut a chunk of the tube off.

Yeah. Problem is you have to buy in bulk and it costs over $60 plus shipping. Thanks for the help though. I should've clarified that in my op.

the mystery poster tubes were pretty good sized....he wrapped each poster in over sized paper and put some filler at each end....shipped without issues

I would recommend trimming the poster tubes down to size. It will save you shipping costs and there is less chance that the poster will move in the tube and get damaged.
