Does this include iTunes sales? It's grim reading eitherway, I thought they'd sold 60 million worldwide. If so, Explains all the touring everywhere but the states.

Nice to see Ed get a hefty chunk for ITW

Wow. I regularly get people on here barking at me that PJ are an American band. Their bread and butter is elsewhere it seems. Good to know.

I think that 60mil in sales has to be albums, single, and videos combined.

I dunno if all the album sales are similar, but about 3/4 of Ten sales are in the U.S. 13mil world wide, but almost 10mil are US sales.

 Was thinking the same thing. I was at my local Target yesterday and they had a ton of them in stock.
  • Just one example:
The Soundscan sales for Ten are at 9,926,457 at the moment, but Ten is certified 13x Platinum for shipments of more than 13,000,000 units.
So the album sold many more units in the US, since not all units sold were tracked by Soundscan.
The older albums have much higher sales than the Soundscan numbers, many record stores were not connected to soundscan in the Nineties. It is the same with Vs. and Vitalogy.

  • Name a source. These seem phony - the Into The Wild sales don't even show up in the RIAA system despite being over the 500,000 threshold for gold.

That's what I've been wondering. I know it must have gone gold by now. I couldn't find the numbers. Never saw this thread. Lightning Bolt has sold over 411,000 since 2014 was the last update. Still has not been certified.

The main thing is that the music is still out there for each of us as individuals to consume and be moved by, to take inspiration from. I'm not surprised that Ten has the highest numbers of that amount. Honestly though, it doesn't really matter to me how much they have sold of anything.
