wow, so young. i just heard him on the radio arguing with Thom Hartmann last week and he seemed so alive...

i don't have much to say about him. i completely disagreed with his politics and his shady tactics, but he was really good at what he did and was successful at pushing the republican agenda in the media. this guy nearly singlehandedly presented things that became talking points and policy ideas for the gop the last few years. i am thinking that his death may be a blow to the republican party, especially in this election season...

Conservative firebrand Andrew Breitbart has died at age 43

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/ ... -at-age-43

Andrew Breitbart, the conservative firebrand and web publisher, has died, according to his Big Government website.

In a brief post, the site said he died at age 43 of natural causes. His death was confirmed to msnbc.com by the Los Angeles Coroner's Office.

Breitbart, in addition to publishing a number of websites devoted to repudiating what he saw as the liberal-dominated coverage of politics and culture, once served as an editor for the Drudge Report and helped Arianna Huffington launch the Huffington Post website.

Geez... like you, I wasn't a fan of what he did, or his political point of view, but my thoughts go out to his friends and family. To lose someone at 43 has got to be tough.

    And yes, too fucking young.

Didn't agree with what he did, but he seemd damn good at it, and seemed to believe in his cause.

    RIP.

    RIP.

I'm confused. No one dies of "natural causes" at 43. Something (most likely an illness of some sort) caused his death. The question is which?

Wow... it was just a few days ago when I saw him on TV, and I had to change it because I simply could not stand watching him... it's tragic that the media ever paid attention to him. This man doesn't even deserve an obituary.

Apparently, he was such a hero to right, that he must be a martyr, he must've been assassinated...

i tried really hard to have some class regarding this guy, because it was obviously a sudden death, probably heart related, but this man should not be deified. he should be called what he was, and sweetchild basically called a spade a spade. she calls things as she sees them. and in this case i agree with a lot of what she said.

the right will champion this guy and mourn him, and the left will be thankful for his being gone.

as i said, i disagreed with his politics and his methods, and the scandalous shit he pulled... i actually despised those things, and his overall smugness, arrogance, and always the victim mentality, but i had to respect him for what he accomplished. it takes a special, soulless, excuse for a human being to be able to live with himself after what he has done.

The context in which I referred to the term "classy" had nothing to do with wealth.

Anyway, a man died. You can certainly dislike what he stood for and state that. In fact, you can state whatever you want - it is a message board. But, I just would encourage you or others to not stomp on a dead man's grave. Anyone who does that is "classless" in my opinion and demonstrates their own insecurities and personal issues on a grand stage.

Feel free to continue though. You certainly are making yourself look good so far.

Early this morning, news broke that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after serving in the U.S. Senate for nearly 50 years. Soon after, conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart began a sustained assault on Kennedy’s memory, tweeting “Rest in Chappaquiddick.”

Over the course of the next three hours, Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a “villain,” “a big ass motherf@#$er,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “prick.” “I’ll shut my mouth for Carter. That’s just politics. Kennedy was a special pile of human excrement,” wrote Breitbart in one tweet.

see breitbart was known for things like this. he was famous for it. and then when called on it he always said his remarks were taken out of context.... he was a typical narcissist, always the victim and being persecuted for things HE said and did...

i could give it all back to him now that he is gone, but i think him being gone is good enough for me. no need for me to kick him now. the lack of the gift of a long life was his karma.

never a big fan of breitbart, but this does beg the question, how soon is too soon?

when is it ok to call someone like Breitbart an asshole?

In reality, it is our actions that lead to how people react to our deaths...

I hate the condescending, hyperbolic nonsense about the greatness of individuals much more than someone calling a person who died an asshole.

I was actually just thinking that...

I have never really understood the hate for Hannity and Beck...they are personalities...they may irritate you, but hating them seems like such a waste of energy...if the left was indifferent to them they would be MUCH less popular...I venture to say that more people listen to him because they hate him rather than love him...

Did I once say anything positive or negative regarding Breitbart's character in this thread? Nope. I simply said people shouldn't stomp on a dead man's grave because it's classless.

I find it ironic that Breitbart did something similar and that's now being used as a rationale for why it's ok to do the same exact thing to him. In my opinion, it's either right or wrong to stomp on a dead man's grave, be it Ted Kennedy or Andrew Breitbart. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Moreover, what exactly is gained from bad mouthing a dead guy?

You are so full of fodder, arrogant and self righteous, its actually quite funny to watch a pompous asterik like yourself go at it. No wonder why you are the perfect cheerleader for people like Breitbart. Be careful I just may have to keep knocking you off that high arrogant horse you rode in on. A dose of humility would do you quite well. Did I stomp on his grave anywhere, no. I said good riddance, please. And said I was even sorry for saying that in my initial comment/post. Which I am refraining of calling you a name however, Im quite sure other people are quite intelligent enough on here to use their own imagination to fill in any derogatory adjective they wish, at this point.
