    Interesting statistics, thanks for sharing.
  • yeah. good luck with that.
  • For the record...

Even Republicans don't like Ron Paul.

And the youth vote is mostly left-leaning.

And even if the youth vote would consider voting for a Republican... the nominee is going to be either an extreme right-wing freakshow whose claim to fame is saying that gay marriage will lead to dog and corpse f*cking(and a name synonymous with lube a sh*t) and a slime bag Mormon who makes $10,000 bets for kicks, brags about how his wife has "a couple of Cadillacs" and says he likes to fire people.

Or a centrist Democrat with a pretty wife and nice kids who hasn't tried to pit Americans against each other.

They're not going to have a chance to vote for Ron Paul. And they wouldn't if they did.
  • Whatever, Ive warned you all about Ron Paul in about 20 different ways. Have fun with that road trip. But if you do it dont find me to bail you out of some pit cuz Im gonna say I told you so and leave you there.

this is a interseting title to wake up to ..as I was going thru my e-mails and a very dear old friend(Gary M. retired) sent this to me and I just had to share it after reading the title of this thread,I'll watch the video when I get home.

    Godfather.

"Just thought I'd pass along some advice my broker gave me today... I called him this morning and asked him what I should be investing in as I feel interest rates are going to be rising as they did during the late 70's early 80's. So I told him I thought we ought to be looking to get out of bonds and finding a safe haven in which to invest. I asked him, “Should we move to precious metals, foreign currency or what?” He responded, "If the current President is in office much longer, canned goods, water and ammunition are probably your best bet".

It's funny. You are spot on about Santorum, yet allowing stupid 1 liners taken either out of context or overblown on the other. You got any more on Mitt?

The strike against Mitt is that the republicans aren't even excited about him. They can run him as "Not Obama", but we saw how successful that was in 2004 with a lukewarm candidate who was "Not Bush".

you do realize that the youth may just not show up. They don't have to go to the other side to abandon President Obama...

is this a debate? it's so cryptic

anywho... I think Ron Paul has a great chance to get the youth votes ...
my youth that surrounds me like him fine ... he's the coolest

Ron is not going to be the nominee so he needs to be the running mate
then the GOP has a chance against Obama... just a chance though
    my opinion

Back when I was a kid ;) it was very scary too, the economy bad...
gas prices up, inflation, jobs tough to find, the draft ...

We did fine, I would like to think the kids today have the same chance,
this what I tell mine, each generation finds it's way.

I'm not arguing Paul will win. I think he "should" win. But, I know Mitt probably has this in the bag.

That said, it's important to point out that Ron Paul is now (finally) beating Obama in polls, which Santorum and Gingrich are not:

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/ron-paul- ... ad-polling

If Paul wins Washington this Saturday, he could would become more of a player in this race. His delegate count would overtake Gingrich, and be ever so slightly behind Santorum. He could then pass him and easily be in 2nd after Super Tuesday. Not arguing this will happen, but it could. I wouldn't completely count him out. Inflation, if it gets bad, blends right in with his arguments on the Fed.

I wonder what the education level of the unemployed youth vote is as a percentage? You know high school only versus the snobs, I mean college educated. In the total labor force of unemployed, "college educated" is half, around 4.2 to 4.5%. Do I wish everyone who wanted a job could have one? Sure. Are we climbing out of the recession? I think so. And the youth vote, 18-24 hasn't historically bothered to vote in large enough numbers as a total percentage of those eligible to make a difference in an election. Can they help? Sure. But tilt it or decide it. No way. Independents, woman and seniors are the demographics that decide elections. At least so far anyway. And with the way the republicans have been attacking education, woman's rights and programs near and dear to seniors, the current bunch has a long road and a tough climb to beat the current president. A lot can change between now and election day, however.

    Peace.

I'm not sure how the (perceived) attractiveness of a spouse plays a part in this, on either side.

And from what I've seen, our President has made some fairly divisive statements over his time in office.

(yes, I'm aware many others have as well)

The youth vote is going to swing to Paul? So Obama is going to lose like 15 votes?

    True for some, unfortunately.

For me, how pretty/handsome (or not) one is, is separate from their character.

Don't need anymore a out mitt.

He's a clueless, snarky, entitled Mormon classist billionaire.

This is a guy with a Swiss bank account and sons with $100-million trust funds. Yet he says things like "corporations are people" and "I'm unemployed."

He's out of touch and clearly just in it for the power. Even republicans don't like him.
