Where to stay in Prague?

Hi Checz friends,
I am coming to Prague for PJ's show and am wondering if you could guide me to the best district in Prague for hotels. I'd like something near shops, pubs, etc and maybe near trian station to Berlin.
Area close to arena does not seem to be near good lodging. So what area is best?

    Any hotel that has Prague 01 as its address is pretty much central. Just stay on the Old Town Square side of the Charles Bridge if you want to be closer to the nightlife.

    well actually the other side of the river - Mala Strana - offers a lot of good pubs and bars as well, recently havent really been anywhere else than there ... :) ... Sundays meet up / euro cup football finals will probably take place there too ...

    so both sides of the river work ... :)
