I woke up this morning....
And dropped my brand new cellphone....
Into a cup of coffee....

And of course...
Last week when I bought the fucking phone...
When Mr. Salesman asked...."Would you like to purchase insurance"???

I politely responded..."No thank you"......

Fuck me...
Take me piece by piece.....

I don't know what carrier you have but if you need to replace it after all hit up ebay. You could pick up a comparable phone for a lot less than the carrier would want at full retail. Hope the rice thing works for you though!

The rice thing works...or...when it comes back, itll last longer.
Was seeing this girl a little bit ago. She dropped her phone in a glass of orange juice. Left it in in white rice for 24 hours. Works to this day.

Awwwww SPEEDY! The insurance is usually worth it, even if you really never use it. I hope it all works out.

I'd like to know how the note is. It seems like this is almost like Zack Morris' cellphone. Big and Clunky.

I think everyone has a story like this with their cell phone. Dropped mine in a toilet once and didn't have the insurance. Now I will ALWAYS get the insurance.
  • did you at least have more coffee -- why is no one mentioning the coffee - thats the real tragedy here.
Wait did you just drink it anyway??

My wife did a similar thing with her new phone also a week or two after we received them...except hers went into the toilet...thankfully AFTER she flushed!! :D

Did you pay with a credit card? Check to see if your purchases are covered by the card's terms. Many people don't realize that their cards contain clauses which insure their purchases.

that did make me laugh Speedy, thanks.

I got my 3 sons and ex-wife the Samsung Convoy, which is ruggedized.

one of my sons dropped his in the toilet, another left his outside in the wet grass overnight. both survived by taking out the battery and into a bag of rice for a day. The dog chewed on the oldest son's and it work fine, bitemarks and all. The ex kept breaking phones and this one has lasted the longest.
  • I did the same thing a couple years ago with my brand new phone. In my case, the sleazy bastard salesman never asked me if I wanted insurance but it "somehow" wound up on my account. I cancelled it as soon as I noticed it (just a day or 2 after I got it, so no money lost). Flash forward 4 months and I'm swimming in my girlfirend's family's pool. 5 minutes after getting in the water I notice something tugging on the leg of my bathing suit as I walk. It was my phone in th epocket of my bathing suit. I was not a happy boy. I took the phone apart and put it in a bag of rice and it slowly cambe back to life. It took almost a week of sitting in rice for everything to work right but it finally did. The touch screen was the last thing to come back but I had basic use of the phone after about 3 days. Just leave it sitting in a window or someplace where it'll get plenty of sun to help speed up the drying-out process.

The dry rice absorbs all the moisture from the phone?

That's a good trick to know!

yes and just as important, do not try to power on the phone while it is wet, this will short it out. take out the battery and put it all in a container with the rice for at least 24 hours
