FT: ***GONE*** Soundgarden SUPERUNKNOWN Orange Vinyl

***GONE***


Original pressing from 94, double LP orange colored vinyl in VG condition. Vinyl itself is in near mint condition, no scratches. Cover in VG condition for being 18 years old, a little white on corners, very very minor creases and I can send pictures if you're interested.

If you collect Soundgarden vinyl you know these are rare. There was obviously the regular black, but also a green, blue and the orange (from what I've researched the orange is the rarest). There was also a clear one but it was a reissue not an original pressing.

Vinyl I Am Looking For and Would Trade 1 for 1:
- Binaural
- Riot Act
- Avocado
- Lost Dogs
- Would also be interested in a LO2L, but that would have to include something else (shirts, memorabilia, etc.). Not because I don't think it has a high value, I'm just not overly interested in it.

For certain vinyls I would throw in some cash as well. I also have some other vinyl I could throw in to make a deal work. Including a Vitalogy original pressing and a Ten Remastered/Redux double LP.

Not saying you're a liar or trying to throw a "mookeywrench" in my trade, but I don't think you looked hard enough. Out of respect to the forum, I wasn't going to bring up Ebay, and I still am not going to post a link because I believe it is against forum rules, but if you search completed listings on Ebay for particularly orange versions, only 2 will even come up. Out of those 2, one came up as selling for $175, it was sealed, but sold for that, you can go look for yourself.

I agree though that yes the blue and green sell and show completed listings for around $45-$60.

In the future though, I would appreciate if you were a little more thorough in your research before posting a comment like that, to make me look like I'm trying to rip others off.

If anyone thinks I'm lying, PM me and I'd be more than happy to send you the link of the one that sold for $175. Again, I didn't want to go here in respect to the forum, but I now feel like I need to in order to defend myself.

Dude, thanks for the heads up on that site...Results very much in my favor.

Anyone interested in the value or questioning it, check out the site pantelis79 mentions above. Just type in "Soundgarden Superunknown" and do a search.

At the end of the day though, any vinyls value is only what someone interested puts on it. Also, as I said earlier, I was hoping this discussion didn't even have to come up. Unfortunately it did, but pantelis79 threw some knowledge down that can help anyone interested make an educated decision.

Well if ya say so, but the Ebay completed listing search i'm pulling up shows an orange one (titled yellow) selling for 57.99 and another orange one selling at 77.99.

Whatever someone wants to pay for it I suppose.

Like I said, and pantelis79 pointed out, go to popsike.com. It's not that difficult and I'm not sure what the argument is here.

It's also funny how before you said $60 and now you're staying $77.99. Did you purposely leave that out or are you just throwing out inconsistent info purposely? Also, you still are failing to see the obvious one on eBay that was sealed and sold for $175. All you have to do is sort by completed listings and filter by highest price first.

Again, I really wanted to leave eBay out of this and I refuse to post links cause I don't want to get this thread locked, but anyone can go out there and see it for themselves. But what I really suggest is going to popsike. Way more info and history of auctions, not to mention, it supports me very favorably.

Also, I'm on the A+ Buyer/Seller/Traders List and I would never risk my status on there by trying to rip someone off. Anyone interested can do the research themselves by the info provided in this thread and they will see I'm being honest.

I think mookeywrench may have just been trying to let you know that you may not get the trade you're looking for since it seems that what you have is not worth close to what the vinyls you seek are worth. I didn't get the impression he was trying to insinuate you were ripping people off.

Yours is used so you will not get anywhere near $175 for it and out of curiosity, I too looked on eBay and saw the one that sold for $57.99 and also some person listed 4 used ones for sale at around $100 and none of them sold. I would probably say yours is worth about $60-$70. Of the vinyls you're looking to acquire, you'll definitely need to throw in something else to make it an even trade.

That is why my original post states I would throw in cash to make the trade work. I'm going to send you a PM with some links. If no one is interested, I'll get no interest, it's as simple as that.

Let's please get off this ebay thing. What you are able to see on there is a snap shot of history. Popsike.com has an extensive history, and again if you look there, you'll see that what I'm asking seems to be fair. At least in my opinion. Have either of you questioning what I'm asking for even looked there?

Also, if you want to talk eBay (which I don't). I won all near mint first pressings of Ten, Vitalogy, No Code and Yield for $188. I've seen No Code and Yield go for more than that alone. So should I value No Code and Yield at $47 a piece (average of the 4 I bought) on all my trades going forward? Again, it's not a measuring stick. eBay is a joke.

Can I please just get cut some slack? If no one is interested, I won't get any offers. I simply stated what I was looking for, also said I would throw in cash to make a trade work and even listed a couple other vinyls I would throw in to make it work. Not sure what the big deal is?

I was referring to mookeywrench's post, too; my bad if that wasn't clear. Same deal with your second paragraph, though; if you're not interested in buying it, what's the impulse to give the guy a negative evaluation of his deal? He wasn't asking for an appraisal of the item or the deal. If it's really about setting expectations for him in a friendly manner, send him a PM. Asserting that he's overvaluing his item in the body of the thread is purposely affecting his ability to make a trade.

AMEN!...and there was no "semi-rage". I respectfully told mookeywrench I would appreciate a little more research before throwing his two cents in on some eBay history. I know I can get a little over the top with the amount of detail I provide, but that's because I am very thourough, there was no rage whatsoever involved in any of my posts.

But I really can't argue with what pjl44 is pointing out. It makes sense and is much more respectful to my post and efforts.

The green vinyl is a re-issue and the clear vinyl is an original!!!! They have re-issues that are brownish/clear!

Thanks for the info! I thought the clear was reissue. Know anything about the rariety of the orange?

Not sure. I frequently check for superunknown on ebay and I don't see the orange listed that much.

I don't know where all these implication and insinuations are coming from but he stated a trade, I said the price trades at lower than what he was saying, he then modified the trade and it's now at a fair deal.

Taking or thinking there's any issue beyond that is all in your heads.

Please tell me this isn't all because you thought I wanted all of those vinyls? You said I modified the trade?

I did change my post because I had originally said "What I Am Looking For" and then listed Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado, Lost Dogs and LO2L. After I saw your post I was thinking to myself, "I hope this dude doesn't think I'm looking for all of those". But because I mentioned if the trade was for LO2L it would have to include more, like shirts, I thought it was obvious that I was only looking for one of them. I mean, if not, and I was looking for all of them, that SUPERUNKNOWN would have to have been worth $800 dollars, it's not a Benny. But I changed it anyways to say "1 for 1" just in case, and again I like to be thorough.

So mookeywrench, did you think the whole time I originally was looking for all that vinyl? That would be hilarious if so.
