career(life) options

I am 33 and embarking on a journey through school towards an end that I'm still unsure of. I have slightly narrowed my search results and wonder if anyone here has taken any of these paths? Where has it brought you? It seems hard to follow interests, to a major and then on to a career. So I am wondering what kind of careers people may have entered with the following majors under their belt: Environmental Conservation, Geology, Environmental science. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. My background is in landscape installation and it has just about worn me out!!!! Thanks
