    around here it is also known as fastnacht day. people eat fastnachts (which are basically donuts without the hole) with turkey syrup (not made from turkey, but its a brand of molasses or corn syrup)

    I do not partake in this

    Yeah they referred to it as donut day here (I guess it's some German tradition or something??) anyway, I had a really yummy donut. :D
