Tone arm help

I haven't had a turntable in over 15 years and got my son an inexpensive one for christmas. Well on a number of records(esp. 45s) the tone arm stops before the last 5-10 seconds play. Like I said it's not the best turntable, just a little portable thing with built in speakers.

I know you are all pros so I'm wondering if we'll just have to live with this until we can get something better or can it be adjusted?
