The Grand Circus Calamity

Come one, come all to a circus affair
Such a feat seen again would be so rare
A tale of how we've let ourselves in
Allowing the hostile takeover, the sin
Oh what a joy this will be to watch
Use your eyes to content, but please do not touch
A nation torn by heartache, war
Creating history, sailors’ lore
A trapeze act of only the sort
Achieved by bombing the other court
So they tell us "necessary means"
Have they lost their nobility?
Have they doubted our keen?
Or maybe we've just lost all respect
For a true piece of acting with explosive affects
We sat the innocents up on their wall
And provided the casualties to make themselves fall
Now all our king's forces, with all of his men
Cannot rebuild their people again
Here come the actors, with all of their flair
And the bodies of soldiers, over there! Over there!
Oh, what a brutal, theatrical twist
To know the young man who'll never be kissed
And why must this boy miss out on his life?
He's fighting for gold in the president's strife
Now away goes the net! They must be insane,
To drop the confetti from dynamite planes!
What a brilliant display of color and light
Fight hard for him child, you may die tonight
"Is the show almost over," they ask with a cry
The officials say "No, we'll continue to lie"
“Then what more can we possibly see?”
“Why, the innocent slaughter of a family of three!”
"The display is not over," cries the ringleader with joy,
"We will send more, DEPLOY, DEPLOY!"
Now the rings are all full of animals and clowns
But the faces of children still show only frowns
Oh but wait, there's more!
To the right, at the door marches the stains of blood on the floor
You’ve sailed through his waters, and so young you have sunk
You’ve died for a stranger before you got drunk
Will this statement never be punctuated?
Are we still proud of this show we’ve created?
