And so you see, I have come to doubt

The time between Football and Baseball is the most boring time of the year for sports (by far). I love how ESPN and the other media outlets have led us to believe that MJ turning 50 is such a big story to fill that void.

MJ was too. My brother was a manager of a bar/restaurant in Chicago (Japanais). MJ would call ahead, they'd set up a private room for him away from the public and where he could smoke cigars. He'd run up a couple thousand dollar tab, and then leave like $20 for a tip. :fp:

Had the chance to see him play live when he was on the Bulls - even got to see a few playoff games, including one where he just took over the game in the fourth quarter and erased a 10 point deficit with a few steals and some jump shots.

MJ was the greatest of all time.

  • i saw him play in 1996 or 97. Was a huge Bulls fan. MJ and the the Bulls were one of the most bizaare things ever in sports. What was so crazy was it didnt matter if they were down 20 in the 4th, you just knew they were going to win, MJ was going to pull out the win, or Pippen or Paxson or whoever would jump in and save the day even if MJ was having a rare off day. And the team played with that same feeling every game. No one flipped out, they just knew they were going to win. I'd argue they were the most dominant team in sports history. That 72-10 season was unreal. The highlights of his career are endless. And it was amazing how MJ retired in 93, and was somehow able to come back even better as a player. his fadeaway was probably more deadly than his earlier career dunks were. And i think he's a hero. That nike commercial about failure is up there with Lance's nike commercials in terms of inspirational. As a kid, i bought nike shoes, gatorade, wheaties and ballpark franks all because of MJ
