remotely?

I don't know how everyone else feels but
I really think it's incredible that my life is so extremely busy
I know it's partially my own fault for having three jobs
plus a family, a husband, and an instrument that requires practicing
but STILL
do my days have to be this full?
so full that finding time to practice or time to exercise is a competition
I hate that!
the people who live in remote places living simply
they must have such a different life
simple, quiet, more natural, hard in a different way
it makes me wonder why I was born in this age
in a big city
with goals and desires and ideas
would it be great to live remotely?!
not even knowing about everyone else?
not even knowing about what others have and want and do?
I don't need much!
I'm not greedy!
I just want a beautiful, peaceful life with lots of music
and time to play it
I guess that's the core desire that chains me to this life-style

I completely understand where you're coming from. I crave a simple life. People often comment that I have no life, but I like it that way. I like to have lots of open time where I can choose to write some poetry, learn a new song, have tea parties with my daughter... whatever. I work full time, but that is the only scheduled thing in my life. I'm stuck in a big city now for work, but my husband lives in our small town. I hoping I can move back there and work remotely beginning in the spring. We are actually hoping to move to an small island just off the coast—about 1200 people live there year round. There is a small school, post office, general store. That's our goal—to buy a house there in the next couple years. Simple.

I like this. It seems these days life is too full, yet not full enough.

That's a good way to put it!

I live in VT and love the lifestyle. Your post gave me the impression that you would also.
I have a 12 acre farm that is situated high in the mountains. I could not be happier. :D

Four of our summer vacations were spent in Vermont when we lived in upstate NY. I love the mountains there! You're so lucky to live there.
