I'm going tonight. I've heard (mostly) good things.

Anyone seen it who'd care to offer an opinion?

  • I saw it on the final week while on Broadway with Billy Joe as St Jimmy. It was fantastic. Great live Band and tremendous light show!!

I agree with RedMosquito-- I loved it. There are a TON of mixed reviews for the show. I personally thought it was great and think it's 100% worth the ticket. It does focus more on the music than the storyline in general, which is a main criticism I've heard, but that didn't detract from me enjoying the show at all. Also, American Idiot (the album) came out when I was in 7th grade and really really resonated with me. So I guess on one hand in a way it was 'easier' for me to enjoy it as I found a lot of meaning in it. But on the other hand, having the album mean a lot could have backfired, as I had high expectations for the show. Good thing is it didn't disappoint, IMO! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Definitely worth the price of admission. The show was a lot shorter than I thought it would be, though (it's not even 10 pm and I'm sitting in my kitchen as I type this).

You two were right. The live band and light show were great. My wife didn't exactly agree about the lighting. She found it somewhat annoying at times. Also, she absolutely HATES "Good Riddance" so when the curtain came up again at the end and the entire ensemble performed it, I got a good laugh.
