Help me out here guys...my first Phish show was last year at Great Woods. What's the draw to the Worcester Centrum for Phish? It's an indoor venue in the middle of summer, for a summertime band, and capacity is well below Great Woods. Are these guys better indoor or out? Will the sound be better at the Centrum?

Pretty sure I'll be going the Friday date.

you don't want to miss worcester.

They just dig Worcester for whatever reason. It'll sell out in a second and the atmosphere is always great there.

Indoor vs Outdoor for Phish = different vibes. Same idea, but it's like you're one big community at the indoor shows. Outside it's much more spread out and easy going. I actually prefer some songs indoors vs outdoors and vice versa....strange as that sounds.

Thanks guys. I'll certainly be going then. I appreciate the input. It's been forever since I was at the Centrum. Pretty sure my last show there was Rage Against the Machine in 1998. Man I feel old.

  • You know, its amazing I only saw these guys for the first time last year. I've been a fan for over a decade and have over 50 shows on my iTunes. Every summer I listen to these guys a ton, the backdrop to good times in warm weather. I've devoted the lions share of my concerts to Pearl Jam (22x) and My Morning Jacket (7x) when I should have been going to more Phish shows.

They have ignored SEVERAL parts of the US since they got back together, I have traveled to see them in 2009, 2010 I didn't but they played ACL here in Austin, 2011 I had to travel again, and looking @ these tour dates they are almost all the same places they have played every summer since 2009.

I will more than likely pass on these and wait for Leg 2 and go out west and see them.

If you go, I'll most likely be hanging out chuck side soundboard (al side if it's less crowded), I'll try and remember to wear a PJ shirt or something

Catching the Cincy show again this year. Last year was my first year and they put on a great show!
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

Thanks very much for uploading these! I am not a completely 'new' phan...but certainly 'novice' phan would not be far off the mark. Have listened to a few of these this evening and quite enjoyed them!

    Much appreciated!

Well, I was surprised by the 2001 cover. I didn't even know Phish covered that, and since I wasn't really paying attention to titles when I clicked on the first item on the list, I was about half way through it before I realized what it was. That was pretty cool!

Phish is such a great band to have on in the background. I have to confess that I read song titles less with Phish than with about any other band....because I don't really listen to them for 'songs'. I listen to them for the jams...and in that case, it's best to just turn 'em on and let 'em run. Like a musical stream of consciousness or something. Not sure if that makes sense...but it's what I do. I don't listen to them in the same way as I listen to any other band.
