    For most of the show, yes, that was the relationship story lines. That show jumped the shark way before the ridiculous last season. Was really good when it first started.

    It was all a book that she wrote. The Becky/David and Darlene/Mark were the "real" couples. Dan had what turned out to be a fatal heart attack in one of the last few seasons, and she wrote the book to cope. She changed stuff around as she saw fit.

    They (their characters)also had a brief relationship on the first season of The Big Bang Theory.
