    Well said, it's just another annoying corporate invention to make people feel either really good or really bad about themselves based on the size of their wallet.

    A very well intended thread and I appreciate the effort. :D

    Valentines Day isn't big with me and I'm a woman. As long as my hubby manages our boys, their homework and dinner while I have a frozen margarita and watch The Other Boleyn Girl for the 100th time I'm good.

    Is Yom Kippur a holiday? It means almost nothing to me, but that doesn't invalidate it. Besides, Christmas is insanely over-commercialized and you could argue that it's infinitely more corporate than Valentine's Day is, was or ever will be.

    I remember the little valentines in class we would exchange 50 years ago

    and then also my kids doing this, we'd buy them and sit at the kitchen table
    while they filled them out... add a piece of candy
    Valentine evening look at all the different ones they brought home

    it's a really nice holiday :D

    Pandora, I also remember those little valentines from 50 years ago-seems like only yesterday!! :D They always brought me a lot of joy.

    On Valentine's Day I listened to Love Boat Captain, and I swear, I gained a new appreciation for that song. It's going in my top ten PJ songs! :thumbup:
