"Original Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr was not shown during last night’s ‘In Memoriam’ segment during the Grammys. Soul Train’s Don Cornelius was another notable name not shown. Very disrespectful of the Grammys, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney walked out of Grammys in 2003 when Layne Staley was not shown during the In Memoriam part of the show. Mike and Layne will never be forgotten!"

It's not suprising, Grammy's are more about the after parties and kissing each other's asses.

I heard about Mike Starr and Don Cornelius being forgotten this morning on the radio. The other dj talking about it mentioned that maybe because Don Cornelius was so recent that he'll be on the bill next year. Yet it took hours to whip up a dedication to Whitney Houston!

I didn't know that about Layne being snubbed as well. Why does anyone look up to the Grammys as a respected organization? It's just fluff.

this. i can't stand anything related to this kinda stuff. same with the top 10 or top 100 & top 200. what a load of shit. mainstream bullshit anyhow. alice in chains' few members shouldn't have even shown up. i like it when someone says, stick that trophy/grammy up your ass...or something to this affect.

grammys and the like are for justin bieber, the jonas brothers, brittney spears, and other billboard chart buster fake little shits. alice in chains shoulda burnt the building to the ground including the red carpet

btw...pay no attention to me. i am grouchy and dislike the billboard chart busters

I don't watch this, but I read somewhere that there was already a tribute planned during the show for Whitney (having nothing to do with her death). So, I wonder if they used stuff they had on hand for whatever they did with the in memorium (or whatever else they did).

Whereas trying to whip something together from a week or so ago having nothing "in the can" for Don Cornelius could make up for this anamoly.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

ahh, no -- no motion, just a classic what-the-fuck face :P

And, I agree with the...inconsequentialness...of these awards shows - toss in the Oscars, Golden Globes, etc. - to me, they don't really celebrate anything except egos and narcissism. Certainly not talent.

I'd like to know if Eddie Vedder was at the Grammy's last night, seeing he was nominated for best Folk whatever.

I think that Etta James was aslo snubbed from the In Memoriam video. :?
The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

    "yes.." she groggily says.

LL Cool J mentioned Don Cornelius when he introduced the electronia/dance music segment.

There are always people they don't mention. They didn't show the fella from the DMB who died a few years ago.
