hey great quality on all the 2011 boots, the extra effort shows!!!

But On the SA boots, I could barely hear Mike's solos in "Go" "corduroy " etc...

Again only the SA shows so there is time to adjust for the upcoming European shows / boots!

Give the master his due!

And thanks for all you engineers do!

These are do much better than the 2010 batch!

Must admit from what I've heard so far on the Buenos Aires boot, Matt's drums seemed turned up more than normal and so does Stone's guitar, especially when he is playing acoustic guitar.

Yeah Matt and Ed are front and center in the mix on theses SA boots...
But I'm struggling to hear mike.. Even on his black solos..

Remember the 2003 boots when you could easily hear mike in one speaker or headphone and stone on the other side..

'03 boots are great. I've got about 20 or so of them and not one of them is bad. Skip to the boots now and the same can't be said.

Every PJ gig I've been I've been stood on Mike's side. Same will happen at Manc 1. At Manc 2, I'm on Stone's side. Gonna be interesting!

No doubt. 2000 are good too. Why did they stop doing something that was perfect?

Lowlight at Porto Alegre is a perfect example. Stone's acoustic guitar is loud as fuck and then Mike' solo comes up - can't hear it!

Not only was the sound on the 2000 & 2003 boots better, so was the packaging & artwork. I think the artwork for 2011 boots is Kufala's best yet, don't think much of their other efforts for 2008-2010

I think Mike has been turned down quite a bit at the live shows as well...not just the boots.
If any guitar needs to be turned down, it should be Ed's. Since '03, it seems his has been a little too loud...

I personally like the 2010 bootleg sound the best. Even if it wasn't a rowdy crowd, you could hear them. I do agree that Mike is the band member I was struggling to hear on the 2011 bootlegs.
As for 2003 sound quality, I don't agree they were the best. Waaaaay too much organ overpowering everything else.

but then again, I'm glad we actually have these recordings in the first place to be able to debate.

Why can't everything just sound like "Live on Two Legs?" Simply the best it's ever going to get in my opinion.

I don't really understand how this is debatable. 2003 is king and 2000 is right there with it. To say any boot after that matches the quality of the mixes is ridiculous. Some of you must not have the 00's and 03's in your rotation. If you go from a boot post 2004 to one from 2000 or 2003, it is overwhelming how much better it sounds. If the opposite happens (switching from the 00/03 boots to newer boots) its painful to listen.

I think it became a lot more noticeable around 2006 but I definitely agree. He needs to be turned down... I can't think of a single song where it is needed for his guitar to be LOUDER than anything else in the band. Even on the songs that he starts. Take corduroy: the way they are usually mixed now, Mike and Stone ripping into the first verse with Ed has lost the impact it once had because Ed's guitar is so loud to begin with. No more dynamic. The same could be said for porch

IMO Stone should be the most audible guitar most of the time (aside from mike solos). He just has that heavy, thick groove and he and Jeff are the backbone of all the songs.
