    I think we are in a state right now where all music is relevant. there is no one dominant genre at the moment. call that a state of mediocrity, call it a state of musical democracy, whatever, but I'd say metal is as relevant as hip hop is as relevant as grunge is as relevant as pop. I don't like most of those genres, but a lot of people do.

    just don't look to old men in suits to guide you on what's relevant or not.

    Actually there are 2 dominant genre's and have been for quite a while. Hip Hop and Country sprinkled with male/female solo pop artists.

    Of course I actually don't care. I tend to look at the college charts more to find newer bands.

    I meant grammy wise. The used to throw some in there for attention but nowadays they really are just there to not segregate the genre. They added Hard Rock to their category so that they never win basically.

    My whole point is if you don't watch the Grammy's all these frustrations will go away or will never be brought up.

    Ahh okay now that I agree with. It's very clear that they have absolutely no concept at all of what is really out there - they're just looking at what's making money. There's a huge metal movement going on right now...maybe it's a good thing if it stays under the radar.

    The really bad news is that the people who run the Grammys are probably the same people who pick and choose who gets into the Rock n' Roll HOF :(
