Odd gear (live sound) question

I noticed at the two LA shows that they were constantly changing out Ed's mic. At least 4 times, maybe more, at each show. Not only the mic, but the cable. I can't imagine them having this many mic/cable issues. Has anyone else noticed this? Anyone know why?

    maybe because the other mics got soggy. ed spits and sweats a lot.

    yeah every show i've been to this tour ed has changed stands n mics about 4 times
