just got the 180 gram Yellow double vinyl LP in the mail a couple days ago. Great album if you like Of Montreal. it's still weird, but not quite as weird as the last two albums. if you're feeling adventurous, check it out and give it a spin.
anyone else an Of Montreal fan? very underrated band in my opinion. kevin barnes is a genius.

yikes. do we really have to bring up critical acclaim every time we are discussing the merit of a particular artist? hissing fauna was a great album...but....
satanic panic in the attic is a classic as well. my personal favorite, and along with hissing fauna, probably their most accessible.
screw the critics. a lot of them seem to HATE of Montreal...because honestly, it's probably a little too weird and out there for mass consumption. most people just don't get, and i totally understand that. but as i said, kevin barnes is a genius. if you have never heard of montreal...and like the zombies, kinks, or late sgt peppers era beatles, def start with satanic panic. they may just suck you in.
great song. i love every song at that album
the past is a grotesque animal is my favorite from hissing fauna
by the way. doesn't even seem like you've listened to the new album, as you really had nothing to say about it. that said, they have made more brilliant songs since that, and here is one from paralytic stalks. an instant classic. enjoy...

....i will note however that this an Album in the truest sense of the art-form. it makes a lot more sense to listen to as a whole, because like much of Kevin's work, some of the songs just don't make sense by themselves. give it an hour of your time, and then repeat repeat and repeat some more.
"A glorious mess of deeply personal introspection and eclectic instrumentation. Each consecutive listen bring more clarity and enjoyment. Its one of those record where the first play-through has you thinking: "What on earth did I just listen to?". Nothing short of sublime."
