    They don't like anyone but pilots and flight attendants up in the cockpit much anymore. 9/11 ruined it

    In 2000, I was in a boy scout troop thing. Our dad took all of us to the airport... they let us through without tickets and we got to go on a 747 and look around.

    Later that year, my dad was able to take me down to the plane by the wheels and gears and such to go on the pre-flight walk around.

    My grandmother worked for American and they used to have huge Christmas parties in the hangar when I was growing up. We could go in the planes and see all the behind-the-scenes stuff, like the pilot's training spaces and stuff. Yeah, they put the kibosh on that years ago :(

    I BELIEVE I can still go to the simulator training area.
