DeadMau5 did a remix of "Rope", so it makes sense!

Current GRAMMY nominees Chris Brown, Deadmau5, Foo Fighters, David Guetta, and Lil Wayne will team for a special performance highlighting dance/electronica music for the first time ever on the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The segment will take place across from Staples Center at the Nokia Plaza @ L.A. Live in a special outdoor tent to be constructed by renowned hospitality company the Light Group's Haze Nightclub at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Sorry but the Fleet Foxes album blows Ukulele Songs away. I will be upset if Helplessness Blues doesn't win; well not really since I don't give a shit  , but it should. It also blows away that Civil Wars album, which is a collection of maple syrup songs that I couldn't even make it through.

Back on topic: I am getting Foo'ed out. I liked the last album but I didn't think it was earth shattering, and this band is just everywhere. It's too much. It was cool when they were just a good rock band but this blowing up thing, I just can't deal.

Eddie's category is part of the pre-telecast awards, which are held at a convention hall next to Staples Center. Not many of the nominees show-up, but since it is GA seating, I once ended up sitting next to Dave Mustaine & Megadeath....I watched his face as his category was announced. He didn't win, so he walked out with a scowl on his face!

Some artists make a point of attending the pre-telecast ceremony...the Foos and Taylor Swift both showed-up to accept their awards a few years back.

    ;)

Yea, Fleet Foxes are pretty much my favorite band going today. I'm still bummed I missed their show last year (had a Phillies game, that was really good too). And I was, um, underwhelmed by Ukulele Songs. Sorry, I'm not talking about Foos at all am I?

What are they playing again? Dance remixes or some shit? Ugh.

    Not really!!

Ugh! This is terrible! Appearing with woman-beater Chris Brown and jailbird Lil' Wayne and isn't David Guetta some American Idol person. Please guys don't do this!!

Don't know how I feel about this one, yet. Deadmau5 has some cool stuff, but I'm not too keen on his remix of Rope, which I'm guessing they'll do. Remains to be seen!

Really? Just because a band is huge, you don't like them anymore??? I never understood why people turn on a band just because they become huge.

I still like them, just think I need a break. And if they do this thing that is being discussed in the thread, well, then they are sell outs. :x I got over Jimmy Page's Puff Daddy phase, so I guess I can get over anything.

Yeah, this whole performance thing would be a little much. I was pretty excited when I heard the Foos were playing the Grammys...an actual rock band performing at the Grammys! Crazy!

For those who aren't too excited about this Deadmau5 performance, the Foos just posted on Facebook that they'll be performing twice at the Grammys!

I think that this will be the other performance though. I can't see the Grammys giving them two whole songs and then part of another performance as well.

Oops, sorry to be unclear! That's what I thought was meant by two performances, too. One with Deadmau5, one just the band, I'm assuming.

I think it'll be cool to see the Foos with Deadmau5...the Grammys are all about unique collaborations...if every band simply performed their hit songs by themselves, it would be just like any other tv show.
  • Well it will definitely be intresting....

I just find it funny that its an electrionic remix after they made a huge deal that it was made on tape :D

Yeah I know. They sent all the pieces of tape out in their CD's, so they have to do it electronically now.
