Not that I didn't have a blast at PJ20, but how cool would it have been for PJ to play 2 albums back to back on separate nights?

This sounds awesome for hardcord Metallica fans!
  • Not a fan of playing an entire album at live shows. Takes some of the fun away. I'm not denying it would be fuckin' cool to see though.

What does everyone think of the other bands on the bill?
  • That's pretty bad ass. I'm a big Metallica fan, so I hope to attend. I would love to see Clutch on that bill, though!

don't know, i'll judge when i see the full line up, as for the full albums, i know what your saying, i'd rather if they wanted to play full albums, play all the songs in a random order.

  • They haven't made a quality song or album since 1991. which is almost half or that 30 year run.

Together we've invited a wide range of bands and musicians to play on multiple stages (at least three!) including Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, Cage The Elephant, Fucked Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, The Black Angels, The Sword, Liturgy, and more

damn. i would love to go, especially for the bolded.

and if roky is there, the black angels will probably play with him and, fuck man, i'd really love to see that. if only i could go.

I want to go, but it's two weeks before my buddy's wedding. I have a feeling I'll have to go to some pre-wedding stuff around that time.

So true 10 years of brilliance followed by 20 of mediocrity .

    Death Magnetic was very good.

Those people wouldn't have listened to the first 4 then.

I respect your opinion. For the longest time I hated anything past the first half of the Black Album, but Death Magnetic just stood out to me when I finally gave it a shot. They sounded younger and more more exciting than they had in decades. I'll never argue with anyone that it's better than their first four, but it's my personal fave.
  • Death Magnetic is a dreadful record full of songs that wouldn't have been b-sides in there heyday, the sound of music made by committee but the hype machine kicks in when it's released and it's trumpeted as a return to the glory days.....Sad but true

Each to their own i guess, I like it a lot, but i agree its not a patch on the first 4 albums. my personal fav is ride the lightning. if they could re-create that era then we'd be laughing.

Pretty much....Everything since Justice has been pretty hit or miss. DM is definitely a product of the "return to roots" hype combined with the expectation level being so low after St. Anger.

I guess we can't say that's totally different from PJ. They've had pretty similar career progressions. Even great bands can't keep the creative spark forever.

Any Met Club members know if there are $125 tickets left?

Anyone else get tix? $150 for 2 days? Not a bad price. Usually festivals cost about $100 for 1 day. Looking forward to it. Little surprised by some of the bands that are playing there. Love the Arctic Monkeys. Also like The GAslight Anthem and Modest Mouse, but surprised that they are on the bill.
