the cracking thunder‬
‪the flash of the damned‬
he fought hard‬
but still he fell‬

‪memories of sunshine‬
laughter and love‬
replaced with violence‬
and war‬

‪laying on charred grounds‬
his mouth opened‬
a whisper‬
“I have failed you my love”‬

a lifetime away‬
she placed her hand on her heart‬
a beat missed‬
she fell to her knees‬
placed her head in her hands‬
‪and cried
