I have found that when I make a data CD and play that CD in a player that can read MP3's, some of the songs are cut. I know that seems strange but when I make the CD a music CD (wav) they are fine. They also play fine straight from the PC.

I use 7-Zip to open the rar files. It is an open source program that is free.

Supported formats:
Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
Unpacking only: RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS

7-Zip works in Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP. There is port of command line version for Linux/Unix.
